Drag'n'drop from 7-Zip not working if zip opened from another app

Post by lilivier »

Hello,

If I open a zip file with 7-zip directly from another app, I cannot drag'n'drop the content of the zip in XYPlorer.

Ex:

I have a zip as a mail attachment in Lotus Notes.
When I double-click on the attached zip, I can Open or Save the zip file. If I select 'Open' it opens in 7-zip (I can see it was temporarly saved in C:\Users\myuser\AppData\Local\Temp\notesBDC7C0\temp.zip)
If I then try to drag'n'drop the content from 7-zip it does not work.

If instead of opening it directly, I save the .zip on the filesystem before and then open the .zip with XYPlorer, the drag'n'drop works.

Might be the usual culprit of your 7-zip being 64bit as opposed to XY's 32bit.
So once you open the zip from within XY it uses XY's built-in zip handler which is 32bit.
