Understanding of certain scripting syntax

Hello, I'm wondering if someone could help me to understand what some certain scripting syntax is. I've been trying to find it in the help and I must not be looking in the right place.

I see in some scripts some syntax like 3:="n" or 5:="c" or 7:="*.jpg|*.png".

Can someone explain or lead me in the right direction of what these mean? Some examples of them in the scripting reference are:
sync "E:\Test\Sync\Source", "E:\Test\Sync\Target", 5:="c"; //show config
sync "E:\Test\Sync\Source", "E:\Test\Sync\Target", 7:="*.jpg|*.png";
text inputselect("Test", "a|b|c|d", 3:=512+16);
