In Windows Explorer, if you copy some file or folder in the same directory, it will be automatically selected. It is very convenient when you already have a lot of thing in some folder.
In XYplorer, it doesn't work. There is a workaround - to use custom copy. But it have another disadvantage - it's "Name Collisions" have too many options! For me, it's not conveninet to choose among them. I understand, these options are useful for hardcore users, but not everybody is a hardcore user.
That's why I ask about add "automatic selection" in normal (non-custom) copying.

Re: NeedFix: Autoselect item after copying
Read the changelog of v18.80.0004...
and what does this have to do with name collisions? I'm not getting asked for a copy / paste inside the same folder...
With the tweak set (and ofc custom copy as well) it just creates the copy and selects it afterwards

From changelog of 18.80.0004:highend wrote:Read the changelog of v18.80.0004...
(I deleted my previous message, because it was completely misleading). Now in Win8.1 and later, Explorer changed its behavior: Now it *does* auto-select the copy. To allow you to mimic the new behavior I added this tweak: ListSelectOnPasteInSamePath=1.
The problem is that it requires to use "custom copy", as I understand from what you said. "Custom copy", however, isn't convenient for non-power users (okay, at least, for me), because there are too many options to choose from on name collisions. That's why I ask about fix "auto-selecting" in normal (i.e. non-custom) copy operations.

Re: NeedFix: Autoselect item after copying
Have you actually looked at the custom copy collision dialog properly?, the last action you use is saved in the drop down, so if you use it once it will from then on be the same action when you press ok, its not like you have choose from the drop down every time, and for the other 2 actions you mentioned there are individual buttons anyway, so if you set it up like the below screenshot you get 3 one click actions that will function just like Explorer sans filename brackets (configurable via: Configuration | Colors and Styles | Templates | Filename Affixes).

Re: NeedFix: Autoselect item after copying
@jupe But I don't need same behavior each time. Sometimes I need to overwrite files ("Copy and replace") and sometimes I don't need overwriting ("Copy, but keep both files").

Re: NeedFix: Autoselect item after copying
Thats what the buttons are for! Anyway you can do what ever you want I was just pointing out the buttons, because I hardly ever need to change the drop down during my own use even though I frequently use multiple different actions such as the ones you just mentioned.

Re: NeedFix: Autoselect item after copying
@jupe I just want to have normal copying behaviour in non-custom mode.
Since it's not custom copy, it should behaves as Windows Explorer, but it doesn't. What I'm asking for could be considered as an improvement or, probably, as a bug, and I would be really glad to see it was improved/fixed.
And anyway, there are also another users, and some of them simply don't know about custom copy, but still need normal copying, with auto-selecting.

Re: NeedFix: Autoselect item after copying
I have said nothing about Auto-Selecting, that it a different subject and the developer will reply to that, I am just responding to the point you tried to make that the custom copy collision dialog is counter-intuitive.

Re: NeedFix: Autoselect item after copying
The ListSelectOnPasteInSamePath tweak should work in normal copy as well, not only in Custom Copy. That was a bug. Fixed in next version.
