I personally don't like the dbl-click close -- it's one of the few features I was persuaded to add against my personal taste or need. As for dbl-click, I don't know where it's used to close, but over here in Maxthon dbl-click means (un)locking a tab, and that makes much more sense to me.
Oh dear I will show my ignorance once more by admitting I did not know this deleted tabs! I always use middle click and was horrified to find it could happen with double click. Especially as you use a single click to gain focus and it could be all to easy to delete a tab by mistake. I do like the idea of using it to lock a tab as this is sort of fail safe!The crucial question here is: is it an expected de facto standard or not? if not I will remove it!

Now, so as not to upset any folks who prefer that method (original request was by user pissant, but last post by that id was months ago), that's why I suggested either a config opt or as minimum, an INI-tweak...that would satsify all types of users.I removed it. This could be set to one of 3 values: Close/lock/select.
