Hi Don, I thought you had a Windows 10 computer now (for testing)? I have another Windows 10 Pro machine and a laptop. I'll check those for the same issue.admin wrote:This must be a Win10 issue. No such hassle here (Win8.1).

Sure, but I only start it when needed. My main machine is still 8.1.klownboy wrote:Hi Don, I thought you had a Windows 10 computer now (for testing)?admin wrote:This must be a Win10 issue. No such hassle here (Win8.1).

Bummer, well for me not for you. Though it would be nice if someone else was having the same issue. I'm on 1803 as well. Strange, hopefully I get it sorted out.LittleBiG wrote:No problem on my Win10 Pro 1803

Re: New script command: tooltip
I can confirm the issue I reported earlier is fixed Don, thanks.
@klownboy: I don't see the issue you describe on 1803 but you could try this: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/566 ... -10-a.html it fixed some problems once for me on my original install of Win10 10240 ages ago.

Re: New script command: tooltip
I just made a retest with .0212: 3 consecutive balloons, none was clicked away. The action center remains empty ("all" other windows notifications are queued).
Queuing of XY notifications es expected, right? If yes, is there (another) magic Windows switch I could/should try?

Re: New script command: tooltip
They aren't queued anymore, I mentioned that here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=19242&start=15#p161654
I also would like that behavior as an option.

Re: New script command: tooltip
Looks like when I remove the icon from the tray the messages aren't queued anymore. But I cannot find any information about this in the web.
I will later take my Win10 machine and poke around a bit...

Re: New script command: tooltip
Thanks Jupe. I tried the taskbar reset you mentioned. Unfortunately, no change. I get the balloon tips and they are in the balloon style (not toasts), but the icon does not go away unless I click on the balloon itself. I'm getting the same result on a second desktop also with 1803. I'll try my laptop later today (also with 1803). Did you have to do anything yourself to get to the point where this works properly (i.e. enable tooltips in general, change from toast to balloons, etc.) in the form of registry tweaks or changes in Group Policy? Thanks.jupe wrote:I don't see the issue you describe on 1803 but you could try this: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/566 ... -10-a.html it fixed some problems once for me on my original install of Win10 10240 ages ago.

Re: New script command: tooltip
@klownboy: No, they have always shown as toasts like my earlier screenshot without any changes to Windows settings by me.

Re: New script command: tooltip
Thanks jupe. There must be something not right with Windows 10 x64 Pro if in some situations or setups (like mine) everything concerning the balloon tips works, but the icon doesn't disappear when the balloon disappears.
Don, I was wondering if when programming for balloon tips, is there any flexibility as to whether you have an associated icon also come up when the balloon tips comes up? I ask because I have other programs like USBDLM that provide tool tip notifications when you install or remove a USB drive, but it doesn't have an icon that comes along with the balloon. We really don't need to see the icon along with the balloon tip if the programming would allow for that.
