How do I force A Folder To Retrieve A Thumbnail?

Post by JamesT602 »

I have say 100 folders all with the mix of files in them images, videos, etc and for the most part the majority of those folders will populate themselves with a thumbnail but a few of those 20% do not retrieve a thumbnail for, so my question is how do I force that folder to retrive a thumbnail foritself.

For auto thumbnails there needs to be a file, with these extensions *.jpg *.jpeg, *.png, *.gif within the folder.

Or you can make sure there is a file named folder.??? (*.jpg *.jpeg, *.png, *.gif) within the folder if you want it not to be a random thumbnail, or you can set a desktop.ini file within the folders either manually or with a script, something like the second one in this post:
