Hello,
how can I create a custom button in the toolbar for open Dropbox or Google drive for example? Drag n drop from the tree view seems not supported.
How can I set 2 sortings? I like to Sort by creating time and group it for type file like on the windows explorer. Is this possible?
Thanks for any hint.
Cheers

Re: Custom Button & Group view
This link below describes how to make a Custom button for multiple paths, so just follow the instructions and input the path you see in your XY address bar when you are in one of those paths you want.
https://www.xyplorer.com/release_11.00. ... ownButtons
As an alternative if you want Drag and Drop shortcut abilities you should check out the catalog: https://www.xyplorer.com/tour.php?page=catalog
If you want the list divided into separate groups, XY doesn't do that, but you can use secondary sorting to achieve the same, hold shift when clicking the column header to do that via GUI.
The help file will be able to answer all these sort of questions if you search it.

Re: Custom Button & Group view
Hello Jupe,
thanks for your help. Just tried the SHIFT klick in the Detail List view... regrettably nothing sorted as second... I can see the grey arrow jumps up and down, but the files are not affected.
Any idea what could be the problem?
Cheers

Read up about it in the help file.
you can paste the following into the XY address bar for more information on "Secondary Sorting" if you are interested:

Re: Custom Button & Group view
ok, I will do that.
Regarding the Button for Dropbox drive. I have config a Cutom button and paste this line into the Script window:
open 'C:\Users\pimpi\Dropbox\'
It works, but the dropbox is opening in the Windows Explorer and not in the current tab or in a new tab inside XY.

Re: Custom Button & Group view
Just the path no open, no quotes, like in the link I provided showed in the screenshots, so just this in the "On Left click" field:
C:\Users\pimpi\Dropbox\
C:\Users\pimpi\Dropbox\

Re: Custom Button & Group view
If you are editing a custom button, and it looks like this there should be no error, for single paths don't press the edit button, paste the path directly in the field as shown here, or make sure there aren't empty lines in the multi-line popup:
otherwise change "open" to "goto", and leave it how you had it.

Re: Custom Button & Group view
Hello jupe,
thanks again for your help.
If I do it without any other entry then the path in the left click field, it works. Oddly, when I set a Name or Icon, I get that scripting error again on clicking the button.
When I use the way via goto 'C:\.....' I can set a Name and a custom Icon without any error message.
May this is a little bug? Anyway, I will do it in future with the goto command.
Cheers

Re: Custom Button & Group view
It's not a bug. What you are using is a special shorthand way to quickly go to a place via button. If you want to customize caption and icon then you have to enter a valid script into the "on left-click" field. Something like
Code: Select all
goto "C:\";FAQ | XY News RSS | XY X
XYplorer Beta Club
