I lost all my data for all the sub folders and files when I change the Folder name.
No files changed inside the folder
nor did I move or cut or paste the contains..
So how do I get all my data back?
And how do Prevent this from happening...

Re: Data lost when changing Folder name
Just to be clear, I assume when you say data you are talking about Labels, Tags, Comments?
I suggest you backup your tag.dat file first, before doing these steps described below.
You can access the stored paths via this menu item:
Configuration | Information | Tags | Options | Edit Orphans...
In the bottom left there is a button with a pencil icon on it, if you press that you can copy the whole list to a text editor and make the required changes with search and replace to fix the list if needed, once you have done that, you can use this button in config to check for any other problems:
Configuration | Information | Tags | Options | Database Check

Re: Data lost when changing Folder name
This won't happen when you rename a folder using XYplorer. But when you use a different application, how can XYplorer know about it?brvoltz wrote:I lost all my data for all the sub folders and files when I change the Folder name.
But don't panic, your data are not lost, they are just not found, because the tags DB entries point to the old folder name. You can edit tag.dat (the tags DB) in any editor to fix that manually.
