List ctx menu: need the Find commands section?
I plan to remove the Find commands section. Just curious: does anybody use it from there (from List ctx menu)?

Jesus Christ are you crazy!??
err, I mean. First things first, I have a bug report to make:
Obviously, you got crazy
Seriously though, I use the Up command quite frequently, and 90% of the time it's through the List's ctxt menu!!
This news scares me, I'm still unsure if I'll upgrade or not... how long before the new/redesign Config window?
And yes, another command I use regulary, and 99% of the time through the List's context menu, is a Find related one : Show All Items In Branch
hmm.. did anyone ever mentioned Customizable Context Menus ?

err, I mean. First things first, I have a bug report to make:
Code: Select all
- Removed the Go commands (Up, Back, Forward) from the top of the
List's context menu. Reason: the menu got too high, and these
commands are not very useful there for a majority of users
(including myself).
After the coming redesign of the Configuration dialog, you'll get
an option to have them back. This news scares me, I'm still unsure if I'll upgrade or not... how long before the new/redesign Config window?

Not being a regular user of that context menu (right-clicks are not as easy with a touchpad for me), how about moving some of the menu items into a sub-menu? Like the search group? Just an idea...yes, it would mean a slightly less quick access to those, but at least the main menu would be shorter, yet still provide the most important cmds...
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!

Well no, because dbl-click puts the focused item back into view. That's how I like it.panorama wrote:Me too, but always by double-clicking empty space (after activating option at tools>config adv tab for this option) when mousing or Bspacing when kboarding
And I go down with shift double-click on empty space. Isn't that easier than the ctx menu
I realize that I could still do that holding Ctrl (which I do when I don't wanna loose my selection already), but I'm just so used to dbl-click to put back into view, should it be Tree or List, I'm not sure I'd like it to go Up

Ok so I tried Dbl-click Up to see, it's very nice but I think I like it better to put focus into view anyways, so I'll stay that way (and, for now, on 0003)
That said, when enabled it does feel "weird" that dbl-click means Go Up only on List, bur not on Tree, doesn't it?
I'd say this setting should then affect Tree as well, and just like for List holding Ctrl would then scroll focus item into view. More consistent that way, no?

In the same idea than those options to remove Navigation and Find Files commands from the List context menu, one step closer to Customizable Context Menus (
) maybe an INI Tweak could be used to choose which of those commands are actually to be included.
You know, so instead of GoCommandsInContextMenu=1 we'd have GoCommandsInContextMenu=111 for example, but user could set it to 100, to show Up, but not Back/Forward.
Or, have another GoCommandsInContextMenuVis option.
Same goes for Find Files, of course.
