The feather I want described exactly by another one. So I quote his post.
A nice feature would it be to add a group bar, above the folder tabs bar, to classify the folders under various groups.
https://explorerplusplus.com/forum/view ... f=4&t=1742
"
So for example the default would be:
Default
Folder1 | Folder 2 | ....
We can either rename the Default group to something more meaningful, or add other groups like:
Group 1 | Project X
Folder 1 | Folder 2 | Folder 3 | Folder 4
This way when we group all folders related to the same project under the same tab instead of being all mixed up.
"
This feather can be very useful to me. I don't find this feather on other file managers. It could be outstanding.

Re: Group tabs
What you have described sounds just like Tabsets, which are already included in the Pro version of XY, it doesn't involve showing a double row of tabs, but the functionality is the same as in the grouping of tabs.

You can swap tab groups via toolbar button dropdown (or you could make catalog item entries to swap tabsets):

Re: Group tabs
I don't know catalog and Tabsets before.
I tried catalog, and it's quite different from what I want. I feel hard to understand the logic of catalog and category
.
Tabsets is much better. But it does't have a bar and I have to close all tabs opened and open other tabs to make a new Tabset.
If there is a bar with plus button for Tabsets, the step can be easier and obvious:I build a new Tabset by clicking plus button, name it, and open tabs within it, done.
And with a Tabsets bar, it will need less operation to swap Tabsets.
Until now I don't understand the catalog and category( are they different?), and I think I won't need it.
But a Tabsets bar can really be an improvement, a better solution.
I don't know about app development. But I guess it won't cost you too much, since you already have Tabsets.
Please consider my suggestion, sincerely.
Thanks.

Re: Group tabs
Why do you want to waste vertical space for an extra tab group bar if you can have it in a drop-down list on a single button on your toolbar?
You could also create a catalog with your favorite tabsets or use a keyboard shortcut to pop the list of tabsets. There's just so many ways already to have quick access to this that I don't see the BIG advantage of an extra group tab bar.
If you use menu Tabsets/New to create a new tabset (again you can have this command executed in so many ways) it creates a new tabset with one tab only, opened in the same location that was active when you created the new tabset.
IMHO it boils down to a few little UI differences but you can already achieve most with the current state of affairs.

Re: Group tabs
And also, there are several scripts that make the use of tabsets very easy and fast. One of them is mine ("MyTabsets tabset manager") and good for those using just one pane at a time. See here:

Re: Group tabs
Once you get used to using XY, you will realize you can load/save/create Tabsets via scripting, so you can do it from wherever you want, including the catalog, you may not use the catalog for other things but if you did decide to have it visible it might have been convenient, if you actually read my post I didn't suggest the catalog was an alternative to Tabsets, just a possible launching place for Tabset operations.canaan_why wrote:I tried catalog, and it's quite different from what I want. FYI you can right click the Tabset toolbar button, and select "New", or map it to a shortcut key, or make a custom toolbar button to do the task in 1 step, all you would need in the on left click field is #850; and you can even use a custom icon or image with a plus symbol.canaan_why wrote:Tabsets is much better.
