Xyplorer Show Video Resolution & Other Tips?
I just recently discovered Xyplorer, there seems to be a large number of settings. I am wondering, can you add video resolution to details? I tried through the Windows normal interface and it didn’t work. I noticed it’s easy to copy a large # of files names at once and it can show folder sizes. What other things do people find handy? Any information regarding this matter would greatly be appreciated, thanks.

Yes you can show Video Dimensions column, there are a few ways to do it, here is the easiest if you are on an english version of Windows 10 1803 enter the following in the XY address bar:
which will add the columns for you, those columns might not work on all video types, they will only work on ones that you have system codecs installed for, alternatively you can add those columns manually by right clicking the Name column header and selecting "Add Column" then right clicking the new (Undefined) column header and choose "Select Property" from the context menu and look for Frame Width/Height in the popup dialog, (more info: https://www.xyplorer.com/release_13.90.php#ExtProps) if you need it to work for every imaginable type of video file you can do it via a custom column and using a command line version of MediaInfo, use a command like below as a scripted custom column, see the help file for how.
For tips and tricks just read about the features on this page: https://www.xyplorer.com/product.php#features and learn more there about custom columns etc
Code: Select all
setcolumns(":n-317,:n-315", 8);Code: Select all
return substr(runret("""%APPDATA%\MediaInfo.exe"" --Inform=Video;%Width%x%Height% ""<cc_item>"""), 0, -1);-

I see, the free version doesn't allow custom columns that explains why I never saw that option before. As for the Help: Help on Scripting Commands that seems too complicated for myself. I noticed that Mp4 files were able to be recognized but not Mkvs. Is there no simple way to just add recognize extension mkv?

I think if you install a codec pack, like this http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm in theory it should work, I am not 100% though, maybe someone else can confirm? Otherwise buy XY and use custom columns.
