Basically add the default Windows "Open" command, as seen on the right click menu, to the custom menu as a selection so that blasted metro-style apps can still be used as a custom open option?
Or, some other way of making a metro-style app be involved with the custom open menu?

Wouldn't this be just a matter of switching to the 64-bit context menu?
