Custom Copy Handler Question

Good morning all,
I recently enabled the custom copy handler in XY for all my copy/move operations - I love it ! The dialog has so much information and so far, works without any problems. I can left/right drag files and folders to other folders, other panes, other drives, etc. and the custom copy dialog is displayed; however, if I drop files/folders directly on a LNK file (a shortcut pointing to a network location), the normal Windows copy/move dialog is displayed.

If I double-click the LNK shortcut to go directly to the location and then paste, the custom copy dialog is displayed. So far that I can see, it doesn't display when dropping directly on the shortcut.

Am I missing a setting or is this expected behavior ? My settings are :

Probably by design or a bug (shortcut resolving isn't done), their is no specific setting for this afaik
