Cannot see non-selected files outline with Selections: XY classic style
Cannot see non-selected files outline with Selections: XY classic style
I am not sure if this is a bug or not, but following the latest update that allows you to change the color of the highlighted files, I have enabled the feature and set it exactly like the screenshot from the patch notes page.
When you have one file highlighted, you can highlight files up or down with Ctrl-Up and Ctrl-Down (without selecting them), and add/remove them from selection using Ctrl-Space. The not yet selected items have a blue outline to show you which file is highlighted. This works fine with Selections > Windows Theme Style, but not with XYplorer Classic Style. Is this a bug or an option I'm missing?
EDIT: Posting screenshot in a sec.. here https://i.imgur.com/ZrvtLXh.png (and my settings https://i.imgur.com/gT023pT.png)

My interpretation is it is a bug/not implemented yet, I will move the topic to Bug Reports.

Although for the time being you can negate the problem by enabling this setting:
Configuration | Colors and Styles | Styles | Focus rectangle
Configuration | Colors and Styles | Styles | Focus rectangle

That thing is quite ugly but does the job :pjupe wrote:Although for the time being you can negate the problem by enabling this setting:

It's like this ever since. AFAIK nothing has changed with the recent update.
To see the focused item in classic style you tick either of these:
Tools | Customize List | Highlight Focused Item
Configuration | Colors and Styles | Styles | Focus rectangle

Is there a way to incorporate the windows style behaviour in xyplorer style?admin wrote:It's like this ever since. AFAIK nothing has changed with the recent update.

You mean to draw just an outline in a similar (bur darker) color as the full selection box?

If it's too much trouble don't bother. I've settled with the [Highlight Focused Item] option

Re: Cannot see non-selected files outline with Selections: XY classic style
I'll do it. That dotted focus rectangle is totally outdated.

Re: Cannot see non-selected files outline with Selections: XY classic style
Hmm, since this update I now have a solid rectangle on previously selected list items which I haven't got before using the following settings:
Tools | Customize List | Highlighted Focused Item is unchecked
Configuration | Colors and Styles | More Colors | Selections is XYplorer Classic Style
Is there another switch I have overseen?

Yes, you should see the solid rectangle on the focused but non-selected item. What's the problem?

I haven't seen it before for years, and now I wonder why it's there.admin wrote:What's the problem?

What about reading the release notes?Filehero wrote:I haven't seen it before for years, and now I wonder why it's there.admin wrote:What's the problem?
Code: Select all
* Configuration | Colors and Styles | Styles | Focus rectangle: Now, when
"Focus rectangle" is unticked and selections are set to "XYplorer Classic
Style" a solid (non-dotted) focus rect outline is drawn around focused
non-selected items using the active selection background color. Before, no
focus rect was drawn under these conditions.
