I'm in dire need of this feature both for work and personal stuff.
Been fiddling with Q-Dir and Tablacus - and still in search of other file managers.. but at the end of the day I still resort to XYplorer.

Highly unlikely that this will happen.

One option: 2 XY instances = 4 panes...

That'd be tedious.
Guess Imma have to wait no matter how unlikely this'd get implemented.

Another option is 1 instance & using tabsets, that way you could have 1 click or shortcut key changing of the panes. If you are interested in more information you can type the following into the XY address bar:
