Cannot rename a folder

Post by Cristian »

Hi!

I'm evaluating XYplorer and I'm quite happy with it.

I've found a little problem with the latest build: I can't rename a folder, the error message is wrong. :)

The one showed in the pic.

Or try creating a folder called VirtualDub-MPEG2 1.6.19 Вuild 24571. It doesn't work with XYplorer.

Open the source of this HTML page and look up this name... :)

Does it copy the source too? :o I've copied the name from here: http://www.kaldata.net/comments.php?id=14212

I know the html links have illegal characters but why is this only happening in XYplorer? I've tested it in other file managers and it works without a problem.

It's not illegal, but it's Unicode. HTML supports Unicode, but XY cannot rename to Unicode. It's because the Edit box does not support Unicode. I'll write my own Edit box sooner or later to make this possible.

If I copy this string and paste it into UltraEdit 9.10, there's the same effect: the "B" is shown as "?". Somebody should tell kaldata to convert the char into a normal "B". BTW, В is the cyrillic "B".
