Smart Folders

Post by manmeetbhangu »

Hi

How do I create smart folders in XYplorer? just like I can make them in Mac and add them to left pane?

I want to find all files ending with *.pst and *.ost entensions.

Also, is it possible that these smart folders are updated in the background, i.e. if a new pst or ost file is added to pc, it automatically shows up in smart folder.

Please advice.

You could use a paperfolder to do that but you'd need to (manually) refresh it.

I'd suggest to use the catalog instead. Categories can be configured to function as a search
and items under the category deliver the pattern. This is a "smart" thing because whenever
you click it all new items are shown as well...

The help file entries (Main Topics - Catalog + Click and Search) know the details...

E.g.:

item.png
To see the attached files, you need to log into the forum.

Hi

Thank you a lot.

PS: Sorry, I was not able to reply earlier. Seems like I forgot to check "notify me when a reply is posted" option. So didn't know you replied.
