I hope this issue hasn't been discussed. I'm not confident that I chose my search criteria correctly.
Say I have 20 folder/files showing, I hold my CTRL key and left-click/hold/drag around the first five (selecting/highlighting them), then while still holding the CTRL key, releasing the mouse, skipping a couple of folders/files in the list, then try to continue selecting the remainder, the first lot of selections have lost their marquee/highlight.
No other File Manager has ever done this to me and I have tried a few.
.... a bug?
CTRL + mouse drag selecting of files/folders.

1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).
We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.

hmmmm ... I never thought it was a local issue. I tried several othe File Managers that I have installed and Only XYPlorer is doing it ... I better thoroughly check my settings.
Silly me forgot to mention I'm using the lastest BETA (build 34)
Thanks for the replies guys ... I better see what's screwing with my system.

Seems not to work when using another View than Details, such as List or Small Icons, and when as he described making a selection by "dragging" (drawing a rectangle)
Edit: AyJayTee what "View" (menu View/Current Tab/Views) are you using? Does it not work for you on Details as well??

You hit the nail on the head jacky. ... thanks
Yes, indeed it is a view specific thing. I have all my tabs as LIST view and when dragging the mouse around folders as described in my initital post I have the problem.
If I change to DETAILS view it works as it should.
anyone else? ... or should I still investigate my system/setup.

It is currently only supported in Details view. In case you wonder why XY here is different from all other file managers: XY does not use MS controls but luxury custom made controls. You'll find a lot that XY can do and nobody else, and a few things vice versa.AyJayTee wrote:If I change to DETAILS view it works as it should.

So does that mean this can't be fixed? Or that you see this deviation from Windows Explorer as acceptable and not worth writing more custom code for the controls?admin wrote:It is currently only supported in Details view.
