Tidy up the menu

I have to agree. I always look in the View menu, and then remember they're in Edit...

I think the menu should be tidied up a little bit more:

1. A "New" submenu normally belongs to the file menu.
2. The clipboard and the rename submenus should be moved to the edit menu.
3. "Edit/Copy Path" is already present in "File/Info to Clipboard".
4. What is "Edit/Copy Folder Name" good for? Isn't it a little bit unnecessary. If not: Why isn't it present in the context menu?
5. The "Collapse/Expand" things should be moved to the "View" menu.

This are only suggestions and are not really important. I just wanted to advise my thoughts...

Thanks, Peter. You are absolutely right... but there's one thing you probably don't know: for example the edit menu appears also as the context menu of the file list when you click on an empty space. If I move the "New..." item to the file menu, it would not appear anymore in that context menu. At least not as easily (from a programmer's perspective ) In other words: I'm too lazy.

You could make independent context menus for the empty spaces (tree/files) with the most important commands of all the main menus. This would also avoid unnecessary commands in the context menu. E.g. what is the cut command cutting if I use it by right clicking on the empty space?

Ah, yes. That's truly good.

But that doesn't change the fact that the first 5 file commands would better fit in the edit menu. This would surely inflate the edit menu. But the "Copy Path/Folder Name" entries could be removed and the "Collapse/Expand" entries would better fit in the view menu. At the end the edit menu would have just one entry more than now.

I agree with all your suggestions, but some of them are difficult to realize for internal reasons. What about this for a start (feature reduction!): remove "Copy Path/Folder Name" and "Collapse/Expand" totally from the main menu. Keep them only in the tree's context menu. I think nobody would miss them in the Edit menu, right?

For the "Collapse/Expand" this is OK. But I would completely remove the copy things. The first one is already present in the context menu of the file panel and the second one is a little bit useless.

I see you've already removed it from the menu. But you've left the copy items in the context menu. I still think you should remove them completely. Just think about:

1. The context menu of the folder in the tree is often real big because of zipper, crypter and other tools. So it is a very good idea to remove as much less usefull items as possible.

2. The things that can be done with these copy items can already be done with great "Info to Clipboard" items in the file panel.
