I've selected the option (Menus Mouse Safety - Custom Menus - Folder Tree), enabled XYplorer in shell menu (as Admin - that was trickier than I expected), but I still can't figure out how to open a stupid command prompt.

There is also a general command: Miscellaneous | General Functions | Open Command Prompt Here (Ctrl+Alt+P)
And a Toolbar button: Command Prompt
And a Toolbar button: Command Prompt

Re: How to "Open Command Prompt Here"?
You can also drop a shortcut in your "Send To" menu as long as you put %cd% (for current directory) in the "Start In" field. Only works for non-admin prompts (and customization of the cmd Window doesn't work for some reason).
But it's easy to do, and it's always there when the "Send To" menu is available on a right-click; being a mouser, I like right-clicks.
I suspect I'll be using both.
