I used a fresh profile to reproduce this

This is anti-virus. Exclude XY from Windows Defender: https://www.xyplorer.com/faq-topic.php?id=mse

I just heard the info on that page is outdated for Win 10 Creators Update:
"BTW your support page detailing how to exclude XYplorer from Win Defender seems to be outdated. I am running the current rev (creators update) and there is no option to exclude files in Defender or at least I can't find it."
Is that so?

No, at least I still can find the setting and my entries set before the doing the update.

However, it is true that the screenshots are outdated for Creator's update because the settings layout has changed!
