Cannot expand tree...

I've looked at locking the tree, but it's not checked in the view menu. However, I cannot expand any of the drives on the left side, in the tree. All I see is drive letters/names. "Computer" will expand and contract, but not the drives.

The action in the mini-tree is working, however, that only includes places I've been to lately.

Why won't the standard tree behave? (I fear the answer because it's going to show how stupid I am. )

can you show a screenshot of the tree?

(you can execute ::obfuscate; in the addressbar to hide personal info. do it again to go back to normal.)

You have to single-left-click the expansion icons (the little plus/minus boxes in the tree).

I SWEAR, I did nothing, but I just started up XY and it's working perfectly now!
