How do I Duplicate Folder Structure

Hi,

I want to view the folder structure on two computers at the same time. How do I do that?

When I start the program it seems to take an age to find my network devices and I get the dreaded "program is not responding" message. I don't understand why it takes so long to find network devices. It is reasonable the first time but why does it not remember them? It seems to go check the network each time.

However, when iteventually finds them, I then want to display the folder structure of one device on the left and the folder structure of the second device on the right. I can't seem to find any way of doing this.

I seem to get the option of displaying one folder structure and then a load of tabs. When the program starts it seems to automatically display tabs for all sorts of directories that I am not even vaguely interested in. Does anyone actually use the stupid structure that Microsoft thinks we should have!!!! (Please don't bother answering that!)

I realise that I can open the program twice, but that defeats the entire point of what I want to do. I also realise that I can move around the folder structure and open tabs in the relevant places. But I also don't want to do that either.

I just want two panes with the left being a full disk/directory structure of one device and the right being the exact same thing for another device.

How do I do that? It seems a simple, basic requirement but I have hunted through all the options and can't find a way of doing it.

You close all tabs you're not interested in
In the left / upper pane you go to the first network share and in the other pane (right or lower depending on your pane setup) you go to the second network share?

If that's not working for some reason post a screenshot...

When I select dual vertical panes I get three sections. The first is a directory structure, the first pane is a location on that directory structure and the second pane is another location on that directory structure. When I move from one pane to another a green arrow shows me where I am on the directory structure.

On each pane I have one tab open. If I try to close these it won't let me.

What I want is for the directory structure on the left to appear again before the second pain. In other words I want two copies of the program to effectively open in one window.

As it is I can't see any difference between the second pane and multiple tabs and I find the idea of it jumping all over the place in directory structure with a green arrow weird. To me, the whole point is that I want to see the full directory structure of both systems at the same time.

XYplorer has only one tree so you won't get what you want...

The difference is that you can see two different locations at the same time when using two panes?

I have to say that any file manager that cannot display multiple trees at the same time (at least 2) is a pointless waste of time in my view. Even file managers from many years ago used to be able to do that. I don't even see the point of this product in comparison to Microsoft's file manager.

I know it has scripting but the one thing I don't need is to learn yet another scripting language. Perl, Python and Powershell do everything I need. So, I have to ask, what is the point of this software? I don't mean to offend, but I read it being rated as no 1 file manager on a number of sites but surely the whole point of a file manager is manage files in multiple trees at the same time. Even programs like freefilesync have a better interface and that is free. What makes this so highly rated?

Can anyone recommend a file manager that can display multiple trees at once?
