I see there are methods in the context menu to create a shortcut but is it possible, as in IE, to create a shortcut directly to the desktop?
Sorry if this answer is buried in the help but XYplorer is so feature rich it is sometimes quite difficult to find an answer.

In IE you can drag and drop onto the desktop but in the case of XY you can't drag and drop a shortcut and have to use the Send To. You can copy or move to but not create a shortcut. I would like to see the drag and drop include a shortcut to the desktop as well - maybe this should be moved to a Wish.Hmmm... but I thought explorer also has "create shortcut on desktop" placed inside "sent to" menu.
Maybe you can use right-click drag and drop context menu. its more flexible, you can drag onto tree or catalog or any tab
Thanks for your help.

You don't have to wish it. It has been wished before, and I wished I could do it myself, but I can't. For mysterious reasons it is not possible.graham wrote:In IE you can drag and drop onto the desktop but in the case of XY you can't drag and drop a shortcut and have to use the Send To.
