Re: Audio "Mouse Down Blowup"
I think this only affects MP4. Solution: Untick MP4 under Configuration | Previewed Formats | Category | Audio Files.

Re: Audio "Mouse Down Blowup"
Now something is not as good as before. Now fast forward loops, but rewind doesn't, sticks at the beginning. If you move the mouse more leftward, the playing continues. And if you move the mouse back to the right, fast forwarding doesn't happen for a while (until you reach a certain point).
If this happens because of the change based on very small music files, it would be better to exclude them from fast forwarding, instead of making the experience of the new function worse.

that solves, thanks.admin wrote:I think this only affects MP4. Solution: Untick MP4 under Configuration | Previewed Formats | Category | Audio Files.
feature related question: is there chance in future we get size/quality setting for images MDBU, kinda similar to Thumbnails settings? after all it's a preview not actual view, so speed matters.

Re: Audio "Mouse Down Blowup"
Much better now! Not really smooth while navigating but works for me as a quick preview.
Very short samples don't loop smooth enough to work as a preview for single-cycle waveforms (compared to for instance Resonic Player https://resonic.at/home), since that is all about very tiny nuances in tone and the current looping creates too much noise in itself. But maybe that can be looked at later.
Otherwise it's a godsend! :-)
Thanks a lot,
Tom

Truly appreciate your continued, intelligent development. You keep coming up with things that I'm going to use on a daily basis. Thank you, Don. We all appreciate your work.

Re: Audio "Mouse Down Blowup"
Thanks, I'm also veryhappy with this one and use it all the time.
But I can't take all the credit. As so often it's a fruit of the think tank called "XYplorer Beta Club". So, thanks to the club!

Re: Audio "Mouse Down Blowup"
Don, I'm loving this new feature.
Are you still thinking you'll expand Audio MDBU for video as well? Seems to be the next logical step. It would certainly be a fantastic step especially if we can use the same simple control interface on the status bar you have for audio.

Re: Audio "Mouse Down Blowup"
Sure. But first I'll do "synch" as the next biggie. The QAP (that's how I decided to call it officially: Quick Audio Preview) will get some time to ripen. Then I'll add the QVP.klownboy wrote:Don, I'm loving this new feature.![]()

Thanks Don, remember if you let it ripen too long, it might start to rot!

Prioritizing like that makes me happyadmin wrote:Ha, actually I coded that already, and it works. But I decided against it because without an interface it is rather unsatisfying ("Where am I???"), and I don't want an interface here.highend wrote:It would get really interesting, when (after mouse down) a left/right movement mouse movement would allow to move (fast forward/backward)
through a audio/video file
That said, and not disagreeing, people are getting more used to a no-interface position feature due to cell-phones. My three yr old nephew managed such an interface awhile ago with great adeptness - then threw the phone on the floor when he was done
