Btw, I don't get an audio preview / a playing file when I use mdbu on the file icon for an .mp3 file on 208... Images still work fine and

Configuration | Mouse Down Blow Up | On file icons as well
Configuration | Mouse Down Blow Up | Audio preview

are ticked. Mh...

None works. No .mp3, .flac or .ogg

.WAV and.MP3 work for me, but .FLAC does not seem to be working.

I just tested .OGG too, and that also does not appear to be working for me. .FLAC is my preferred format, so for me, that's the most important one to have MDBU working. I just tested a handful of different sourced FLAC files and none are previewing.

Weird. All audio formats work here without any issue. (K-Lite Codec Pack Basic 10.9.5)

Can you preview them normally (i.e. XY native, not WMP) in the Preview tab?

Testing 17.40.0208

Normal Wav works for me, but not multichannel surround.
FLAC works, even multichannel.
AIF works, I don't think I have multichannel AIFs to test.
REX .rx2 doesn't work even when added to the audio files. (probably no codec for it - it's a proprietary loop format and not free AFAIK).
WMA works but not multichannel surround files.
AC3 works in surround when manually adding the format to the audio files - I guess I installed a codec for it some time ago when getting into surround.
MP3 works.

So the one thing I do not understand is multichannel WAV, since normally you don't need specific codecs for that AFAIK and its shown as "can't decode".

Are Midi .mid files supposed to work in the blowup? They work in preview?

I often get a short "knackser" at the beginning and end of audio files, even ones that definitely start at zero level. Maybe it's a sample rate switching issue? My system is set to 48 Khz/24 Bit...

So I guess the main issue will be to find a reliable codec pack that makes the most possible formats work for everybody while not creating other issues.

So cool !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers,

Tom

Quoting K-Lite somewhere:
DirectShow audio decoding filters:
AC3/DTS/LPCM/MP1/MP2 (AC3Filter) - For decoding AC3 and DTS audio. Also decodes DVD audio.
AAC (MONOGRAM) - For decoding AAC audio.
LAV Audio This decoder supports a large number of audio formats.
In my case LAV Audio is opened (icon on sys tray) when I preview a FLAC file.

Btw, I have a mixed experience with audio mdbu on mp3 files. Most of them don't work, some do. Do you want a package of two (shared link), one working, one not?

FLAC working now! I re-ran the K-lite Codec Tweak tool as Admin, chose a few "Fixes" operations and tweaks, and now XY previews FLAC... awesome.

(Still would love the "fade in" option :D )

For me this feature would be more useful if I can listen into the music. Somewhere in the middle of the file as an audio sample of it. If I want to start it properly from the beginning I do it on the preview pane. Or that fast forward thing is not so stupid idea...
