Deleting Orphaned Tagged Items, selectively

Going through my tagged items database to clean up real orphans, after the volume serial fixes in 17.40.207. I notice I cannot manually delete selected orphans directly, but have to do a Database Check and then can only remove all unconditionally. This is a problem since I have many drives, not all attached at any time. I don't want to remove tags that are orphaned simply because the drives are not attached. There are cases where I have migrated tagged items to other drives, but the old drive's tags appear with the old drive's serial number. Those orphans I want deleted. But there will be other tagged items there with serial numbers that are to be kept because the drives are not attached. Perhaps this situation might not arise with the new fixes, not sure.

But down the road, I think I will be making extensive use of XY tagging on a permanent basis across many drives, so I would think it may be necessary for whatever reason, to clean up orphans selectively. Can the current restriction on selective orphan deletion be removed?

You can do that already in "Edit Tagged Items..." (under Configuration | Tags | Options): delete orphaned entries manually and individually.

Ah, now I see what you mean. I'll check that later...

I guess I can always click on the pencil icon and remove the orphaned items directly in the editable text pane. (I must first attach all the relevant drives so their serial numbers are resolved to drive letters. Then I can distinguish the real orphans from valid items on other, unattached drives that appear there with unresolved serial numbers.)

Or you script the whole thing (use an .ini file where all drives with their name + serial numbers get stored), read the tag database and present
a list of tags sorted by drive name / serial number, etc... Just to name a possibility^^
