Fast Search

Post by Calade »

Hi All,

When i make a fast search (with F3), with for example *.JPG it displays not only all the JPG pictures of the current folder but always those of the folders under it, that is a bit annoying to copy/move ONLY those of the current folder.

Is there a trick in the options (or elsewhere) to prevent displaying these unwanted files.

Thanks for your answer.

Code: Select all

rtfm "idh_quicknamesearch.htm";
"Search Pattern Switches"

and even the small blue "i" in the quick search window explains it...

Thanks for your answer
But how do you specify this switch

I have tried in the text box that fires by pressing F3 (like ?*.jpg /n) but it does not make what I was searching to do.

It still finds results in subfolders when you use
*.jpg /n
?

Works fine here...

/n works as advertised here, and as you seem to desire acc. to your first post.

Tip: For non-recursive searches like this you can also use the Live Filter Box.

OK
Thanks for all
The question mark (eg ?* /n) in the examples for quick search pattern in the help has confused me. Sorry.

Now it works fine and I have 3 way to achieve that.
