Changing view mode using shortcuts

Post by Muroph »

Whenever I use a keyboard shortcut to change the view mode of a tab to 'list', 'details' or 'small icons', all tabs get changed to that mode.

The same doesn't happen if I change the mode using the view menu, or by right clicking the 'toggle thumbnails' button on the toolbar.
It doesn't happen with the thumbnails modes either.

Indeed a bug. Good find. :) .

Update: Stay put, Don will fix that (my guess: in less than 24h).

Is it all the time, or only with specific KS ? I can't reproduce it unless I use a KS involving Shift, and this is a feature/trick : changing a View while holding Shift will apply it to all tabs.

Now that you mention it, they all used shift (alt+shift+\, ctrl+shift+\, ctrl+shift+z).
I changed them so they don't use shift anymore and now it's all OK.
Didn't know about this shift -> all tabs thing.
But is it supposed to work with the shortcuts as well?

Yep, you got it, jacky. :) It's a side effect of that little "holding Shift" trick.

Good find, Muroph, but what now?? Either I remove the trick or you remove the Shift from the shortcut. Hmmm. I don't see a smart way to distinguish... wait a minute... ah, yes: I'll change the test for the little trick to "If ONLY Shift is down"... 8) That way, keyboard shortcuts will not trigger "apply to all tabs", but only Shift+MouseUp on Menu will.
