Noob question about quick access

Post by alexc »

Hello

I must be missing something basic, but how can I replicate the "quick access" the Win explorer windows have on the left side of the window? I can see Xyplorer has things called catalogs and hotlists, but any way to just add shortcuts to the sidebar?

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.

If by sidebar you mean the actual tree, then no but the catalog can be used for similar things and a lot more like quick access to locations, programs, links and scripts.

You can but not in the root of the tree.

The tree shows a "Links" folder if: Configuration > Tree and List > Items in Tree and List > Show Links folder
is ticked. There you place your shortcuts (by dragging and dropping your .lnk's into it)

I had the same question (I just installed XYplorer). But, had to do a Google search to find it because searching the FAQ for quick access didn't yield anything that helped (at least in the first page of hits).

I did find it interesting that a few of the directories that I have pinned to Quick Access in File Explorer were in the XY Links folder immediately after installation. I assume there is some difference in how they got to the QA menu in FE in the first place.
