Opening Different Sets of Folders

Hello!

I need to open a different set of folders on different days, depending on what project I am working on, and when I open them, they need to be in a particular sequence each time. I have, perhaps 6 or 8 different sets of folders that currently fit this list.

Up to this point, I had been using a .BAT file (a different one for each project) to open this set of folders by launching Windows Explorer 5-8 times, and each separate launch, opening a different folder by specifying it on the command line using Windows Explorer command-line syntax. This was convenient because I always knew that in the list that pops up when I hover my mouse over the Windows Explorer icons in the task bar (Windows 7), they were always in the same sequence, and the TOP folder was always a certain set of references, the 2nd folder was another set of references, etc., and the bottom folder was the files I was working on.

I got XYplorer to replace Windows Explorer for this task.

So now I am looking for how to BEST (perhaps by using a .BAT file, or command-line specified list, or script?) open particular sets of folders I want to have open in the tabs (depending on which project I am working on), in left-to-right sequence. I have observed that closing and re-launching XYplorer opens the same set of folders (very nice feature). But I may need to close it, and open and entirely different set of folders to switch projects, and I would like to accomplish this in just a few seconds (i.e. not spend several minutes to, for example, open 8 different tabs to a particular set of folders).

I'd like to ask what is the best approach (I'm willing to sit down and learn details, but would like to have guidance on the BEST way to do this, since I suspect there is more than one way to do this).

Welcome to the forum.

There is no need to use an external way to open different tab sets. You can do it from inside XY.

Set up your tabs for project A.
Menu - Tabsets - Save as...
Give it a name, e.g. "Project A"

Set up your tabs for project B.
Menu - Tabsets - Save as...
Give it a name, e.g. "Project B"

When you now want to switch tabsets, Menu - Tabsets - Open - Select the tabset you need...

And the best way... We don't know. It depends on you. I do things via scripting. But this is only
the optimal solution for me
