can xyplorer under w7 or w8.1 or w10 copy in use files ? like registry files?

When they need to be in a consistent state? Not without taking a VSS snapshot first -> You would need to script this...

Nobody said that it is a big deal, I just said it needs to be scripted...

Command line tools? Sure, hobocopy, vsscopy, to some extend shadowcopy (if used with e.g. fastcopy), etc...

Never knew about VSSCopy, but have been using HoboCopy for ages.

Anyway, won't ever bother with VSSCopy:

162Mb for a copy program? Must be containing about every junk toolbar ever created...

The actual install size of vsscopy on a x64 Win 7 system (with no updates, no additional .net installations) is
4,2 MB (without unins000.exe).

You'd better use a linux boot cd *sigh*
