Manual sorting will block drag and drop movement of files in ver. 17.20.02
Both are important features to most of us.
When (or if) this is fixed - please do NOT do an automatic refresh or resort.
We need to be able to verify that 1. rename was done as intended. 2. No further Manual sorting is needed.
It is a real problem getting back.

Re: Manual sorting will block drag and drop movement of file
This has always been the case and it can be argued whether this is expected behavior or not.
If you use manual sorting that extensively I would suggest you have a closer look at paper folders.

Re: Manual sorting will block drag and drop movement of file
I use paper folders extensively. When you have a bunch of files with just a serial number and perhaps a date - such as from screen captures - then
paper folders would not do much good. Other files may have very cryptic - super long nonsense names.
FastStone Image Viewer (free) does do this well as an example. I think and hope that Admin will find the time to make this correction in XY.
Thanks for the reply.

No, it belongs under questions, and the answer is: You can either have one or the other at the same time. They are totally different sorts of drag and drop.

In the File Exp by M$ and other programs (such as FastStone Image viewer) there is no such limitation.

Good point. Done in next beta:pat55 wrote:Manual sorting [...] please do NOT do an automatic refresh or resort.
Code: Select all
+ Permanent Custom Sort Order: Now a custom sort order is also preserved on
an auto-refresh event.
