Grid Color Question

Post by kodyman »

Don,

I didn't put this under bugs since I'm not sure it is or something on my side.
I have set Configuration|Colors|List|Browse|Grid to DDDDDD
And exit with save configuration. This is set as my default anyway.
XY Grid color - 002.png
XY Grid color - 002.png (4.55 KiB) Viewed 2792 times
When I open XY and turn on Show Grid it is showing up as
XY Grid color - 001.png
XY Grid color - 001.png (29.11 KiB) Viewed 2792 times
Using a color picker I have checked the gray color in C9onfiguration and it confirms it as DDDDDD but my grid color is showing as DDDD88.

I've tried some other configuration colors (red, blue, darker gray) and they seem to be displaying properly.

Is this a bug or have I missed some other setting?

Thanks

There are so many color-settings. I'm still searching for the active pane selcted item color. I found the inactive pane color, but not the one for the active pane.

I think you must set a grid space. Think there was something "style" (?).

I've been looking for this for as long as I've been using XY (years), never been able to affect the active pane selected background color. I think Windows must be overriding/preventing this?

I really have no idea. Thought so too, and tried to set the colors to pink in windows theme. But no success. ATM I haven't found the correct setting.

It's a feature, not a bug:

Code: Select all

v16.90.0317 - 2016-07-01 17:05
    * List: The grid color is now determined with a new formula that should work
better for different user-defined color schemes.
Yes, the selected item color in the focused pane is determined by Windows. IMO it's important to use the system wide colors here. Focus should look the same in all apps.

My original post kind of got sidetracked but that's ok. I probably wasn't as clear as I should have been and worked around it.
What I was questioning and seeing doesn't have to do with the active pane/selected item color. In a different post I think I asked about that once but since have read and Don again mentions above the active item color selection is a Windows OS thing we're stuck with.

I couldn't figure out why I was setting grid color to a light gray (DDDDDD) but seeing more of a yellow color in my alternating rows in the screenshot. Then I remembered the alternating rows color had to do with the Zebra Stripes setting under Styles.
So I probably should have been saying Zebra Stripes and not Grid, I don't know?? I'm also using the XYplorer Classic selection. I also forgot to include above, I am running XY v17.20.0000 pro on Win7 Pro.
Since the light gray (DDDDDD) selection I wanted was not showing up as light gray alternate rows I just started trying some different colors from the custom color box and adjusted the vertical bar a little until I came up with something that looked close to what I wanted. It isn't 100% the light gray DDDDDD but it will work.
