Highlight color

Post by pat55 »

I would like to experiment with the highlight colors used when thumbnail items are selected and also the folder selection bar.
Right now they are both light blue. I would like to try light red or pink for both.

I have looked under Colors and Styles and can not see which items to change.
Any suggestions?

Not sure which colors you mean. Could you post a screenshot, please?

I think that light blue color might be the global selection color controlled by Windows (and hard to reliably change in Windows 10). If you click into the list in the right pane, you will then see the folder take on the "Highlighted" color in the tree, which can be set in the Colors and Styles > Colors.
Running on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit quad-core ASUS G752-VY notebook with 64 GB RAM, over 26 external USB3 drives attached via multiple powered hubs with letters and mount points, totaling 120+ TB. SCREEN SCALING: 125%

Yes.

Just saw that this part in Styles was a bit misleading. I just inserted a label to make it clearer:

The "Selections" dropdown lets you choose the style (Windows Themes vs XYplorer Classic), but the color connected to that style is controlled by system wide settings (and you can change it there -- don't know about Win10 though).
However, XY lets you totally control the color of selected items in *non-focused* controls. (I did this because I personally found the system choices for those colors not satisfying at all.)
