Hmm,
a strange one: with two Win 10 Pro machines I don't see the Custom Copy progress dialog popping up when the system root drive ("C:\") is the target (which needs elevation to be written on). Instead the standard Windows dialog is shown.
Is this normal/intended?
Custom Copy: No progress dialog on C:\?

Confirmed. I don't think that's intended because before the copying begins XYcopy.exe requests elevation permissions

Re: Custom Copy: No progress dialog on C:\?
When you are not "Admin" then %HOMEDRIVE% is one of the target locations where Shell copy has to be enforced (the other ones are %ALLUSERSPROFILE%*|%ProgramFiles%*|%ProgramFiles(x86)%*|%ProgramW6432%*|%WinDir%*).
Reason: Custom Copy will fail where UAC disallows writing, whereas Shell Copy will prompt for elevation.
