:info: Please include the following information:
1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).

:info: We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.

utorrent "open containing folder" also opens file explorer

Post by voirin »

Hi, I'm using:
  • Windows 10 Pro x64 10586.36
  • XYplorer 16.10.0300
  • utorrent 3.4.5
I have in configuration > other > shell integration:
  • XYplorer in shell context menu [ticked]
  • XYplorer is default file manager [ticked]
If I'm downloading a torrent and I right click it and select "Open Containing Folder", what happens next is:

1) XYplorer opens to the torrent location; then
2) 20 seconds later, windows "File Explorer" opens to that same location.

Well, #2 shouldn't happen at all. Not sure what's going on.

Thanks.

This is something uTorrent has to provide. I have noticed the same problem in that application and others. There seem to be different ways of opening paths in Windows, so the client program has to know which to use. The search utility Everything.exe, for example, provides a way to custom configure this, which is absolutely essential for me.
Running on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit quad-core ASUS G752-VY notebook with 64 GB RAM, over 26 external USB3 drives attached via multiple powered hubs with letters and mount points, totaling 120+ TB.
