Hi,
I had to reinstall Windows (7) and copied all my old XYplorer settings. But now I can't show hidden files anymore for some reason. When I switch to "show hidden items" the program shows the hidden files but immediately freezes and doesn't respond anymore. Hidden files are shown normally in Windows Explorer.
Any ideas? I've never encountered this problem before.

2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).
We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.
When attaching an Image, please use the Attachment tab at the bottom of your post and click "Add files".

There is no "show hidden items" in XYplorer. What exactly are you doing, and does it make a differencee if you do it in another folder?

sorry for the late reply but I actually had to buy a new computer because my motherboard and/or processor broke.
Of course there´s a "Show Hidden Items". Shortcut Ctrl+Shift+H. I'm talking about the Toolbar here, so maybe there's the confusion? I tried several folders because my first thought was that maybe there's too many items to unhide. But it happened with very simple folders as well. It happened when I started XYplorer "fresh" as well, so it wasn't the settings either.
In any case I've got a new computer now with Win 10 on it, so I can't say any more about it. It works fine here. Now I only have to figure out how I can take control over this f***ing thing and save settings again.

You mean "View | Show Items | Show Hidden Files and Folders" (Ctrl+Shift+H). Let me know if there are any more problems.

Yes. And for the toolbar it's summarized "items".
I ended up copying my old XYplorer folder to F and changing startup.ini. That seems to work. I just couldn't get it to work with a normal installation on C. One problem solved was another one created.
