When reporting a bug, please include the following information: your XYplorer version (e.g., v27.90.0047), your Windows version (e.g., Win 11), and your screen scaling percentage (e.g., 125%). We recommend adding your Windows version and screen scaling percentage to your profile or signature. This will make debugging much easier for us.

Same here serendipity, it's a complete swine - would be nice if XY handled this.

I try to check the "remember my password" but the shares often change it for security reasons. Anyway, this is the only place i have to use explorer instead of xyplorer.

Thanks.
Tried everything. No luck. This looks like a window that should popup by itself. Wonder why it does not...

Yeah, the moment I click on the share it pops up. Does the "browse for network server" menu in tools uses explorer or ur own code? because it behaves differently from explorer.

I call functions in shell32.dll which then pop the window. What's the difference to explorer?

The difference is XY doesn't pop-up a box when i click a passworded share like explorer.

Oh, I found something strange.

Passworded Shares: If i navigate with "browse for network server" in XY, a passworded share simply shows empty list if it is cached in the tree and it shows message "couldnt find path" if it is not cached in the tree.

Unpassworded shares: If I navigate with "browse for network server" even when a share is NOT passworded i get "couldnt find path" message. This is because I dont see it in the tree. On the other hand typing this share into addressbar shows up the contents of the share in the list.

In my opinion it seems like only if the share is cached or shown in the tree the "browse for network server" thing is usable.

Is it possible to have "browse for network server" in-built in the tree? Like in explorer where you can manually click through "Entire Network>Microsoft Windows Network> ..." because I think the popup window we have now for browsing network is not working as it should.

I changed the "Browse for Network Server..." command so that it now works exactly as if the path was entered in the address bar. That is: If the path's server is currently not shown in the Tree, it will be added on the fly.

No, I but I try to make the popup window we have now for browsing network work as expected.

I dont know if this helps, but when I type a passworded path into IE it throws up a popup too. I thought I will tell this since XY uses IE in some cases too.

I don't know if this is related or not, but between 6.10.0071 and 6.10.0077 something in the networking broke and I can no longer view anything on my network share. If this isn't related, I'll fire this up in another thread...

In v6.10.0072, v6.10.0073, and v6.10.0074 I changed various things affecting network browsing.

What are the symptoms? Any error message?

Sorry, I've only got 71 and 77 and it was broken in 77. The symptoms are a grey list saying "can't access it". Switching the XY files back to 71 fixes it. No errors, popups or anything.

Hm. Why only you? Did you try the ExistUNC.zip test app I uploaded some days ago? Did it work? What locations do not work (servers, shares, folders on shares?)? How do you navigate to them? Catalog, Tree, Address bar?

I shall try on Monday (funeral on Friday) as I've not tried that app.

I tried navigating to the shares all the ways I could. WE found them as per usual (nothing in the network setup has changed in the last two weeks since the admin's on holiday).

Especially watch Check 2 and 5, as those are the ones I'm using.
