Would it be accurate to say that Branch View is effectively a preview of Flatten Folder or are there subtle differences involved?

Branch View allows you to see the full hierarchy of the contents, either of everything in the current location or the selected folders, with the levels of indentation showing the position in the filesystem, etc. If you flatten a particular folder then everything underneath, at every level, will end up at the same level, if I understand it correctly.

Thank you for answering, elqasar. With your explanation in mind and some more working with the two approaches now understand.
