If I try to change the created date of a file that I just scanned in to the date of the date I received the file I see
"Timestamping done: 1 item stamped" but the creation date doesn't change. It does work if I change the modification date. Is this is bug or is this a reason for this? (I made sure there were no file handles open to that file as well.)
I'm using XYplorer 17.00.01
Thank you for any answers you can provide.

Re: Changing Created Date Timestamp
Works fine for me. Did you try it with other files (e.g. in a different folder / drive)?

Re: Changing Created Date Timestamp
I did. However, all of them were on the same drive. That was a bad test. It works fine when I try it on my local drive. The files for which I'm trying to change the created date are on my NTFS-formatted NAS that I'm accessing via a UNC file path. If I try it for another file on the NAS, it won't work.

Re: Changing Created Date Timestamp
Can confirm that now. Works fine on local file systems but not on a NAS accessed via UNC. Only the created date is affected, modified is working correctly. It's not bound to the file system, my NAS uses ext4, not NTFS.It works fine when I try it on my local drive. Re: Changing Created Date Timestamp
Cannot confirm for UNC paths in general. Don't have NAS for testing.
Might be a limitation of NAS or the file system. Can any other app change the Created Date Timestamp?

Re: Changing Created Date Timestamp
I had reported such a problem a looong time ago, was using my Synology NAS. "Suddenly" Dates (I think it was Created) were not kept using XY-backup to NAS. (Before it worked quite a time without a problem.)
It turned out that after some change on NAS-SW the date could not be changed at all, but always was set to current. (For me: bad on Backup!)
As I understood: XY on Backup first creates the file, then resets the Created to the original. That didn't work any more, as the NAS ignored it.
As I see it it's like that till today, but I'm not on a very current version of DSM. :-(
At least: not an XY problem.
