Hi all,
I hope there is an answer to this: I'm working on a project in which very dumbly the company renamed all the folders with a project specific prefix... ERS001... result: it's impossible to see at glance what is what on any project three, please see the attached.
So I have a bunch of tabsets all starting with ERS001... and also in XYplorer i have to scroll through all of them each time to find what i need.
One thing that would solve this is to color each tabset differently... is there a way to do so? There must be! It's such an important/basic thing.
I already know how to color the content of a tabset ( toggle boxed branch ) but that's not very useful because the main idea is to color the tabsets!
thanks in advance!

It's simple, you can't do it. It was requested several times though
Two things you could do:
Rename each tab (right click on one, context menu - Rename Tab...
Or use a template
Menu - Tools - Configuration... - Tabs and Panes - Tabs
Tab captions: Custom
Button Custom...
Something like:
<drive>:\...\<folder>
or maybe just
...\<folder>

Re: How can I do this?
I am not sure about that... If you had more color, you should remember which color belongs to which project. My colleague always have this problem. He does many nice coloring in his excel sheet and a week later he doesn't remember what meant what. I would go for renaming the tabs and change their icons.alxdvc wrote:...One thing that would solve this is to color each tabset differently...

Re: How can I do this?
I wonder if custom icons would work for this? If the naming scheme was
/ERS001A...
/ERS001B..
/ERS001C...
...
/ERS001X...
/ERS001Y...
/ERS001Z..
You could do it....
/ERS001A...
/ERS001B..
/ERS001C...
...
/ERS001X...
/ERS001Y...
/ERS001Z..
You could do it....

renaming and icons for most important tabs is the solution.

Re: How can I do this?
Good point about renaming... I'm assuming that OP is not allowed to change the names (because his/her company chose the naming scheme). If that's not the case, then just do a bulk rename into something more sensible.eil wrote:renaming and icons for most important tabs is the solution.

you know, there is nothing of what you suggested: if I right click on a tab, there is no context menu... can you send me a screenshot of what you've seen?highend wrote:It's simple, you can't do it. It was requested several times though

I click that arrow, it opens up the list of open tabs... but again, how do you rename them?admin wrote:See image for how to open the tabs menu:

Yes I can rename the tab, that's not a problem I can't rename the folder because these are company standards, so it's not debatable, but if I can rename the tabset within XYplorer it would be great,
anyone knows how to do that?

Re: How can I do this?
I was just posting two screenshot for your two questions...
Second one: That's where the option is^^ In my first post in this thread I had described that you could use "Custom" in the drop down list instead of "Full path" and select a template to customize it...
So, first screenshot: That's the context menu of a tab when it's right clicked (and make sure you don't right click on it's icon but on the rest of it!)you know, there is nothing of what you suggested: if I right click on a tab, there is no context menu... can you send me a screenshot of what you've seen?
