:info: Please include the following information:
1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).

:info: We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.

problem renaming files with unicode names

Post by Creat »

Hello, I think I might have found another one, but it could be intentional too.

I have a few files by composer Antonin Dvořák, that's where I noticed it. When I try to rename a file with this 'special r', when switching to renaming mode the 'ř' bevomes a normal 'r', also I can't insert this character from the clipboard in a filename. It does work fine in explorer.
As long as I don't edit the filenames, the character is correctly displayed though.

bye

Yes, this is an admitted shortcoming of XY: you cannot rename unicode file names and keep the unicode characters. It's one of the things I'm not proud of.

Yea I thought it might be something like that :)
No worries though, I barely (if ever) need it anyways, was the first time I noticed it since I started using XY ages ago, so I'll manage ;)
