:info: Please include the following information:
1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).

:info: We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.

Catalog Window resizes improperly

Post by MrAnalogy »

Repro Steps:

1. Maximize XY. Press F8 to show Catalog.
2. Try to reisize Catalog window by grabbing top or right side of it and moving.
3. No matter what direction you try to drag the window edge, the Catalog window gets smaller.

My version: 6.10.0042, which says it's the most current.

Are you sure you have your version # correct?
XY website claims latest eversion is: ...042. Maybe you have a beta version that's newer?

Have you tried with your DPI display setting set to 120% higher than normal?

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I am using latest beta version, which you can download from here:

could you try the 0067 beta?

I tried this beta on two different PCs and I dont see any bug here.

Problem seems related to higher DPI setting

Post by MrAnalogy »

I tried XY with the screen DPI setting at NORMAL (after reboot) and problem went away.

Next, I'll try the latest Beta of XY an raise the dpi setting again.

Problem persists with DPI 110%

Post by MrAnalogy »

Using the XY 6.10.0067 and Display Properties>Settings>Advanced> DPI setting 115% of normal (110 dpi) I get the bug I've been describing.

I'm guessing that the altered DPI setting (which makes the fonts larger than your app is expecting) is confusing the resizing code.

THANKS! Bug fixed

Post by MrAnalogy »

I own a software company, so I now how important it is to fix bugs and improve the sw.

However, many customers just say "it's broke". I try to go the extra mile to explain the repro steps. But most sw companies couldn't care less. They have no interest in actually improving the software.

So I *really* appreciate and value your willingness to fix bugs.

Great program. Great support. :D
