Not able to Drag And Drop Outlook.msg files into XY

When I "drag" Outlook.msg files from Outlook over to an XYplorer, they don't "drop" in. I'm just seeing that circle-with-diagonal-line "no-go" symbol. In the BitsDuJour comment thread, Donald said to "run XY with the same rights as Outlook (User or Admin)". Could you tell me how to do this? Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.

To start a program with admin permissions you right click it and in the context menu you choose "Run as administrator"

Oddly, the problem is fixed. Here is what I did...

1) Opened Outlook using "Run as administrator"
2) Opened XY using "Run as administrator"

... and predictably, I was able to Drag And Drop msg files from Outlook to XY (but having to always use "Run as administrator" for these two apps would be very cumbersome).

So I closed both programs and then launched them again, this time WITHOUT using "Run as administrator"

... and oddly, now I AM able to Drag And Drop msg files from Outlook to XY

So for now at least... problem solved.

I have seen this myself. Sometimes Windows itself seems to get confused about dragging rights. If nothing else helps a Windows reboot is often the solution for dragging problems.
