Newbie questions

Oh man, XYplorer may be way too much for me. I've spent at least two hours trying to figure out how to do several simple things:
1. I want XYplorer to always startup showing the same folder open, the green line showing the path to that folder.
2. I want the files in EVERY folder I view to be organized by date modified, with new files at the top.
3. I want XYplorer to confirm I really want to delete a file, before actually deleting it.
4. I want to be able to copy the path to a file.

I've combed through the Forum, and I've spent a lot of time just experimenting with the program, but I'm still not able to perform these simple tasks. Any help much appreciated!

Welcome to the club.

1. Many ways to do this...
Go the the folder you always want to show
Save settings
Disable:
Configuration | Startup & Exit | Autosave settings after this many minutes
Configuration | Startup & Exit | Save settings on exit
Don't save settings manually when you changed it

Easier way:
Configuration - General - Startup & Exit
Use the "Permanent startup path"

2. As long as these files have the newest modifed date?
Click once on the modified column, now the newest files are at the top
Menu - View - Folder View Settings - Define this Folder View as Default

3. Did you accidentally disable:
Configuration | Undo & Action Log | Prompt before delete

4. Right click the file, To Clipboard - Item Path(s)

This is just for deletions by Undo.

Instead, this should be UN-ticked (which it is by default):
Configuration | File Operations | Miscellaneous | Suppress delete confirmation dialog

However, it's not enough. Recent Windows version have this prompt disabled by default. One the stupidest things MS did in recent times. You need to change this setting in Windows by right-clicking the recycle bin icon, then Properties, then this:

To Highend:
Thanks for the advice, I'm getting closer to what I want. But not exactly:
1. That shows the folder I want, but it does NOT show the tree expanded to that folder. "Expand in tree" is checked in Options|General|Start&Exit.
2. I swear to goodness, I tried that before and it didn't work. Imagine my embarrassment now. ;-]
3. Yes, "Prompt before delete" is definitely checked. But it just deletes the file w/o prompting.
4. Shoulda figured this one out myself.

Bingo! Thanks. And I agree, one of the dumbest thing MS has done in years.

IN conclusion: Thanks to Highend and admin, everything is solved except having the tree expanded to my favorite folder every time I open XYplorer.

Works fine when I try that with a fresh instance... Did you lock the tree (View - Lock Tree)? Provide a screenshot from XY right after you fired it up...
