List display - sort by created then type

Post by mikes16 »

Hello-

I would like to sort by created or modified but have all of the folders at the top of the directory list and the files below. Is there a way to force the tool to behave this way?

thanks for the help!

Is the "sort folders apart" and sub-opt "keep folders on top" within the Advanced tab of Config what you're looking for?

See http://88.191.26.34/XYwiki/index.php/Co ... n#Advanced
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!

7 minute reply (in mid July)

Post by panorama »

Hi all (all that aren't off on vacation)

For a while I've been wanting to check in with this forum, which I read daily, and once again highlight :!: how much I appreciate the welcome and info that JC, Jacky, Serendipity/Surrender (you'll have to explain where in "Run to the Hills" IM speaks of "surrender" - or is it another tune?) and others :D have provided in response to my newby questions  .

The problem is, now, whenever I feel like trying something new, I discover that it is clearly and completely covered either in the wiki or in the forum. So there's no occasion for me to ask questions. I don't feel that I have the expertise to answer or add to most questions, so I've just been reading for the last little while. But I'm here, and seeing that JC just answered the latest forum question in 7 minutes flat moved me to give him and all the rest of the forum a standing ovation (no smiley for that, is there?)

Totally off subject and also for JC, your cottages in MA 8) look a bit like one in ME I spent many a summer at, only on a lake, not ocean side.

Anyway, thanks to all - hope you're enjoying your summer whether in MA, ME, CA, PRC, BBC, IMO or whatever !

oh... PS, I like the software, too. Thank you Donald

Oh, I'm sure you could find a question that hasn't been covered here or in wiki, but I'll agree that it's a bit hard to find one!

But just cause you're somewhat new here shouldn't stop you from trying to help those who are REAL newbies, right? And yes, I just happened to be here at right time to answer promptly, but that isn't always the case...

However, given the various time zones of us XY fanatics, one of us would likely be here at any given time...that's what I like about XY...I can discuss it here almost 24/7 if I wanted to..

So :D THANKS for the recognition! I'll share it with jacky and the other top forum-ites on here who spend lots of time helping make XY the BEST product that too few have heard of, unfortunately...
