You have to type these characters somewhere then copy into XY.

Don, can't you support more chars in textboxes? It's still not possible to directly input Bangla characters for example either, as well as many many many others. :(

btw, yusef, can you input Arabic directly?

Not even into the address bar? Well, probably not. It's weird. These are standard Windows edit boxes. Maybe they need some special flag on creation...?

I have no idea.

It's all very confusing. You can paste these characters OK, but typing directly is not.

Code: Select all

  charview "ক"; //dec 2453
  text chr(2453); //OK
  focus 'A';
  sendkeys "ক"; //?
  sendkeys chr(2453); //?
//at this point, typing even ALT+2453 shows some other character
Why is pasting and typing processed differently?

And will this help? http://cyberactivex.com/UnicodeTutorialVb.htm

I don't use VB for controls, just for logic and flow. Virtually all you see is Windows controls or controls I made myself. It has to be some flag, I just cannot find any documentation on this.

Could it be caused by CreateWindow?

Thanks for the link. I'm using the "W"-variants everywhere AFAIK, but I will check again.

Please test the next beta (v16.70.0010). I found indeed some unsuspicious looking A-variants that I replaced by W-variants. Maybe it helps...

Code: Select all

! Edit Controls: Experimentally tried to fix an issue with typing Bangla.
Sadly, it's same as before.

(by the way, this incompatibility affects lot more characters than just Bangla. Also there's a "teh" in teh changelog.)

:ninja: PhotoDemon is written in classic VB, and I can type Bangla properly in its textboxes. Wonder how...
