Portable tab with BV

I'd like to set a tab like this:

?:\Shows? /:flat

I used Relocate Tab, but XY doesn't recognize such syntax and gives a location unavailable error.
What can I do? I'm working with XY Free in this case - setting up a drive for a friend and want things to work flawlessly.
It's important that I can use the ? as drive letter (I don't know how the drive will be mapped once attached to my friend's laptop) and that the /:flat will stick (I'd like things to work right out of the box, with as less mouse clicks as possible).

open the tabset's pane.ini
Now edit keys A#,B#,C#,D#,H#,I#,M# where # = tab index.
The *-marked tokens should remain unchanged (tokens are tab-separated).

?:\ can be replaced with <xydrive>\
This will only remain portable as long as the tabset is not resaved.
XY will overwrite portable paths with absolutes.

Is it impossible?

I looked into this today, and really tried to make it work (IMO I think it should work), but it became uber-tricky and I did not want to open this box today. I will look into it again another day.
