Post by mrbosco »

Any way to do a Rename Special for folders?
I'd like to easily convert underscores to spaces.

What exactly do you mean, how to do that (which pattern) or is the "Rename Special" context menu item missing?

16.60
Is it in a different place
File...Rename Special is greyed out when I have a folder selected.
Is there a rename special for folders somewhere else?

I guess you mean 16.60.0200?

No, that context / menu command is the same for files and folders.

When you post a reply, there is "Filename" line under your editable area and a "Browse..." button on the right side of it. Select your picture, it's automatically attached to your post afterwards.

And now show a screenshot of what you have really selected (and where: tree, list, ...)

Any folder selected greys out some of the file menu options.

Rename and Rename Special always apply to the selected item(s) in the focused control. So:

To rename a folder in the tree, you have to select it and focus the tree.*
To rename a folder in the list, you have to select it and focus the list.

* Indeed, Rename Special does not work in the tree, only in the list!

And you have selected a folder in the tree but the focus is elsewhere?

The focus is on the folder in the tree on the left.

Ah, ok. Don't know if it's a bug or intended... But those menu items are not available for a selected folder in the tree :)
